The Foundations of Trinity United Methodist Church

The Theology and Mission of the Church

Trinity Church is a Christian Community of 150 souls that is a part of the United Methodist Church. We strive to be an open and inclusive people that practices a Christ centered faith grounded in four things:

  •  The historical, theological and liturgical TRADITION of the church,
  •  The disciplined use of REASON, and
  •  A carefully pondered and self-reflecting relationship with life EXPERIENCE.

Our Mission is that of Making Disciples for Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.

We seek to meet this mission by creating and sharing ministries that work to:

  • Create new places in our faith community for new people.
  • Train and equip our young for faithful leadership in the world.
  • Address the causes of poverty and hunger.
  • End Communicable diseases in third world countries.

The discipline we employ is John Wesley’s “Three simple rules…”

  • Do No Harm
  • Do Good
  • Love God

It is our pleasure to announce that we are promoting Beth Van Vorhis to Director of Christian Education and Outreach. Beth has previously been serving as the Church Secretary. Beth will be assuming responsibilities related to education, operations, marketing, communication, and church events. The SPRC was very excited by Beth’s enthusiasm and vision for growing our church attendance, her passion for Christian education, as well as her business education and background experiences. Congratulations, Beth!

We appreciate all that Missy Hart has done here at Trinity. She will continue through June 30th as Beth transitions into her new job.

As Beth transitions to this new role, Lucy Pullins will temporarily assume the church secretary responsibilities, while the SPRC determines the direction for this role in the future. Lucy will staff the church office three mornings a week, 9:00 am -12:00 pm, starting June 1st.

Unfortunately, given the extensiveness of recent staffing changes, there will be no 2018 VBS.

Please join us in welcoming Beth into her new role!
