Grow in Faith

There are many ways to connect to Christ and we at Trinity are committed to helping you find the place of service that fits your passion and your giftedness.

Kenwood School Partnership

We have been partnering with Kenwood Elementary School in various ways since 2019. We have served as Lunch Buddies and Reading Buddies. We also collect school supplies for the teachers two times a year to offer support for our Bowling Green educators. In 2024, we were awarded a grant that enabled us to purchase a book for every student in the school. This grant, from the West Ohio Conference of the UMC, made it possible for our church to continue to support literacy development for each student. We are excited to see the ways God will continue to grow this partnership in the future.

Youth Group

Students in grades 6-12 can join in the fun as they learn about faith and grow relationships that will last a lifetime! The youth group meets twice a month on Sunday evenings.

Live Nativity

Every year on the Sunday before Christmas the west side of our church transforms into a scene right out of Bethlehem! As we

re-enact the night that Jesus was born. Its a beautiful sight to see, with carol singers, camels, donkeys, and even a llama or two! We celebrate the birth of our Savior with grace and love as we welcome him with songs of praise. Come and join us every December to be a part of this special ministry event.

UMSO

The United Methodist Student Organization is a campus ministry sponsored by Trinity UMC at BGSU. Students gather together on campus to study the Bible together, serve their fellow students, and share life in fellowship. For more information visit https://www.umsobg.com/.

Trinity Connections

Members of Trinity visit all of the nursing care facilities in Bowling Green every month to offer a worship service that the folks gathered in each space can participate in. We take a bulletin, sing favorite hymns, share scripture, poetry, pray together, share homebound communion, and share a meaningful message. This ministry is 100% laity lead.  This Fresh Expression of church offers an opportunity for people who normally couldn't go to church to participate in the life giving community that is a family of faith.

Our Missions Team works diligently all year to care for the needs of those living in poverty in Bowling Green and beyond. We offer a little necessities pantry at the Northeast side of our building, pack food baskets for the hungry at Christmas time, and offer free meals at different times throughout the year.  We also plan 2 rummage sales and our highly anticipated Deck the Halls Sale. The proceeds of these sales go toward our Christmas Baskets projects.

Congregational Care Team

This group makes weekly visits to our

home-bound members, nursing home residents, hospice patients, or those who are temporarily in rehab after surgery. They deliver the weekly sermon and bulletin to homebound members and assist the pastor in keeping in contact with members who are ill. They also deliver monthly communion and send cards to those who are unable to attend church on Sunday

Sew, Knit and Crochet Group

The group’s mission is to provide needed items for local nursing homes as well as for our church membership.  Anyone who can knit, crochet, sew, iron, pin, and/or cut fabric, or just wishes to enjoy Christian fellowship is welcome to join us! We create prayer quilts and shawls for those who are in the hospital, and the nursing home. We also offer a bazaar each fall to raise money for missions to give back to our community.

Esther's Circle

Our chapter of United Women in Faith is a busy group of women who work hard to serve others and share their faith in community. They meet monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am in the library/conference room.

Music Ministries

Our chancel choir and handbell choir offer opportunities for people of all ages and musical talents to be involved in the music ministries at Trinity!

Trinity UMC's Relay for Life Team is dedicated to the fight to end cancer! Every year this group of passionate volunteers raises money for the American Cancer Society through activities, dinners, and even a tasty pie sale!

The Trinity UMC Mercy Fund

The Trinity UMC "Mercy Fund" is a pastoral discretion fund that our church utilizes to assist Bowling Green families with emergency needs such as utilities bills and rent. To apply for a grant from our Mercy Fund please contact the church office at (418)353-9031 or visit during regular business hours.  Each application will be examined on a case by case basis. Unfortunately, an application for assistance does not guarantee that we will be able to assist your need as the demand at times can be great. If you have questions about the Mercy Fund, please contact the church office.
